Is there a way to convince her?

A high school friend is getting married saturday, and i figured since its over an hour drive to where the reception is and another half hour to where she is getting married to carpool with another person who got invited. But since her boyfriend is now invited she doesn't want to. I don't understand why not. Yes she is with her bf. But what is the big deal. He wasn't invited til recently.
