Ticket in carpool lane?

i was getting on 167 from willis, coming from the shell station, going south, their are 3 lanes, one which is a carpool, the other a merge lane, then regular lane in the middle, i had the green arrow to turn left, a car came from the merge lane and i had to go into the carpool lane as not to get hit by this person, who's was in a hurry, i came to a complete stop as to try and get back in the other lane, the cop was on a bike, and standing right at the light, and singled me to pull over, which he was happy to give me a ticket for 124 us dollars. I tried to tell him what happened, he said fight it in court. So should i bother or go to court?
