Swearing at a Police Officer is no longer an offence. Your views on this please?

The Met have stated that people will no longer be arrested for swearing at a Police Officer and their guidelines state that Officers should rise above this sort of verbal abuse. Personally I think it's a disgrace that Officers can be sworn at when they are only doing their job.
